New Life, New Lifestyle

So…. I realize I haven’t written in quite awhile, so for those of you that follow me and would like an update, here goes!

Since last time, I’ve graduated from college and accepted a position as a Multimedia Assistant at KBJR 6/Range 11 and KDLH 3 news in Duluth, MN. My first day was St. Patrick’s Day, and have since had experiences writing news stories that aired on television and shooting my own video in this beautiful city!

Not only have I been working at the station, but I have also continued my life in retail, working at Dress Barn at the mall as well.  Working two jobs has been rough at times, but I’ve made the best of it so far.  As long as I don’t get to miss out on the Rose Garden or the view of the lake, I’m not too concerned with my work schedule.

The Rose Garden- you can smell the roses from the parking lot. Highly recommend coming here to just relax and meditate on life.

As far as living goes, I live by myself- but I must admit, after living with roommates for the past 4 years, it’s been pretty nice to have a place all to myself.  The studio apartment is a perfect size for me, and the neighborhood is nice as well.  Sometimes I wish I had someone to talk to, but with the hours I work and the (very little) amount of housework I get done in a week, it’s probably for the best.  Little known fact: I hate cleaning.  So much so that I wait until the last minute to do EVERYTHING  and then I procrastinate even more because I don’t want to or don’t have the time to clean everything I need to.   Or I want to enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Superior instead.

As much as I wish this was the view out my window, it isn't. But it's pretty close, since I'm only 4 blocks off the lake!

Well, it’s a Sunday night, and it’s after midnight.  I plan on cleaning tomorrow (for real this time- I even have the laundry sorted already.) For those of you who know me pretty well, you know that’s an accomplishment of itself.  So, if I plan on cleaning the whole place, I should probably quit writing and get some sleep.

However, that brings me to my last point.  Ever since I’ve lived by myself I’ve started finding out what I like or don’t like- I’m truly finding myself here.  I’m growing in ways that I couldn’t in college.  For instance, I found out that even though one of my passions has been writing, I’m also enjoying photography as well.  I truly believe that every person should try living by themselves, even if it’s just for a month or two if they can afford it- you learn so much about yourself in such a short amount of time.

Alright, for real this time- good night!  I will hopefully be writing on here more now that I feel I will be in one place for a long time.
